PixelGate Cloud Storage

 

Use the following tutorials to set up your SFTP Client with Pixelgate Cloud Storage:

 

If you have not already done so, download the latest version of Cyberduck here: http://cyberduck.ch/
Once downloaded, open Cyberduck and click on the "Open Connection" icon in the upper left corner of the window.

A. Choose "SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol)" from the drop-down menu at the top of the dialog box that appears.

B. In the "Server" field below, enter: "cloud1.pixelgate.net"

C. Enter your Username and Password in their respective fields.

D. Click the "Connect" button in the lower right hand corner of the dialog box.

You are now connected to your Pixelgate Cloud Storage account via Cyberduck. You will notice several folders. Each folder has different uses and levels of accessibility:

  • FRIENDS FOLDER: This folder consists of files that other members of Pixelgate Cloud Storage have shared with you.
  • PRIVATE FOLDER: This folder is used for files which you wish to remain private. Files stored here are only accessible by you and not others.
  • PUBLIC FOLDER: This folder is used for files which you want to be posted publicly on the web. Files stored here are accessible by anyone.
  • SHARED FOLDER: This folder consists of your files that you have shared with other members of Pixelgate Cloud Storage.
  • BACKUP FOLDER: This folder contains backups of files stored locally on your computer. It will update automatically.

To upload files to Pixelgate Cloud Storage, simply click and drag your file to the desired folder. The "Transfers" window will appear with a progress bar (pictured below) confirming your file is being transferred. Once successfully uploaded, you will be notified in the "Transfers" window.

To download files from you Pixelgate Cloud Storage account, simply select the file you wish to download to your computer and drag it onto your desktop. The "Transfers" window will keep you informed on the download progress of your file as well as when the download is complete.

 

For security purposes, you should disconnect from Pixelgate Cloud Storage when are you finished using it. You can do this by clicking the "Disconnect" button in the upper right corner of the window.

Once downloaded, open FileZilla. Under the first row of icons you will notice several fields that must be completed, including "Host", "Username", "Password", and "Port".

A. In the "Host" field, enter "sftp://cloud1.pixelgate.net"

B. Enter your Username and Password in their respective fields.

C. In the "Port" field, enter "22"

D. Click the "Quickconnect" button.

You are now connected to your Pixelgate Cloud Storage account via FileZilla. You will notice several folders (highlighted in red in the image below). Each folder has different uses and levels of accessibility:

  • FRIENDS FOLDER: This folder consists of files that other members of Pixelgate Cloud Storage have shared with you.
  • PRIVATE FOLDER: This folder is used for files which you wish to remain private. Files stored here are only accessible by you and not others.
  • PUBLIC FOLDER: This folder is used for files which you want to be posted publicly on the web. Files stored here are accessible by anyone.
  • SHARED FOLDER: This folder consists of your files that you have shared with other members of Pixelgate Cloud Storage.
  • BACKUP FOLDER: This folder contains backups of files stored locally on your computer. It will update automatically.

When you double-click on a folder, you will notice the window reveal all of the files located inside (A). Meanwhile, the directory of folders can be navigated from the window above (B).

To upload files to Pixelgate Cloud Storage, simply click and drag the file you wish to upload into the desired folder.

 

To download files from Pixelgate Cloud Storage, simply right click the desired file and choose "Download" (A). The message log (B) will keep you informed of the file's download progress as well as when the download is complete.

 

For security purposes, you should disconnect from Pixelgate Cloud Storage when are you finished using it. You can do this by clicking the "Disconnect" button located in the middle of the row of icons along the top of the window.
